The role of abric now directly related with the expression of the beauty of clothing andit provides new and creative ideas. This study was aimed at reviewing basic data thatr today'sfashion designers who must study unique, original fashion design develop ment. Forsystematic development of design technique through fabric expresion, f abric expresionmethods and characteristics, aesthetic characteristics and fabric design of 'art o wear'First, the highly wrought fabric expression of art o wear was confirmed to becomprehending a mesage within itself.Second, aesthetic characteristics of abric expresion used in art to wea r c a n b eclassified as decorativeness, extensity, 2-D pictorialness, handicrafrearrangement, and 3-D characteristics.Third, the 6 aesthetic haracteristics have unique design features and ae stheticcategories.The understanding the fabric expression techniques through study on the c lasificationsition ofcreative direction and inspiration of modern fashion.
