The purpose of this study is to analyze of concepts’ diversity and proximity in decision making. The selected issues in decision making of this study were animal experiment, naturalized organism,conservation and development associated with composition and diversity of organisms for 7th grade students. The method of this study is the following. The subjects in this study consists of 368 7th grade students in metropolitan and local small city. The questionnaire was presented each decision making issues' data and let them write down their concepts related to the decision making issues,then let them mark the relevance scores (1~30), too. Concepts' diversity and proximity were analyzed by the subjects’ points in decision making through concept survey before and after classes. Concepts’ diversity and proximity analysis used Shannon-Wiener index, multidimensional scaling in PASW Statistics 18. The results of this study were following. First, according to the subjects’decision making points, there were not significant change of concepts’ diversity and proximity before and after classes. Second, according to decision making issues, there were also not significant change of concepts' diversity and proximity before and after classes. Third, there were a little of concept’s index in decision making. Therefore, through the class, the student’s prior concept was not change easily and affect the student to remodel scientific knowledge because of coexisting new scientific concept in the student’s cognition. Based on this results, first, for developing the students’ cognition through class, it is necessary for the students to give the opportunity to carry out the decision making process. Second, decision making in science curriculum needs to be managed not only a specific chapter but also several chapters.
