The purpose of this study was to test the influences of learning cycle model on the life science concepts of middle school students with intellectual disabilities. The teaching-learning program was developed by R&D Process. This program was composed of 9 sessions pilot program and 16 sessions main program. Three third-grade students and one two-grade student with disabilities selected to be the experimental group from one middle school special class. This study revealed that the frequency of life science concepts was increased by treatment of the program. The students used a lot of the non-scientific concept such as existence and nonexistence of experience, the animism, involuntary movement, places or location, edibility, and personification on the pretest. But the students’ using the concepts of life science such as reproduction, growth, heredity, stimulus and reaction, and respiration was increased. So, we concluded that program based on learning cycle model is an effective teaching strategy for changing the life science concepts of middle school student with intellectual disabilities.
