A career experience program in Biotechnology for high school students was developed and its effectiveness was examined. The program is an one-year program consisted with sequential laboratory experiments, demonstration activities, visiting biotechnology laboratory and a lecture of real scientist. The developed career experience program is named Pre-Scientist Experience Program (PSEP). The PSEP was applied twice for science club activity of high school students. To test the effectiveness of PSEP, pre- and post-genetic concept tests, post-questionnaires, students' activity reports, and interviews were examined and analyzed. The results showed that PSEP was positively effective to improve student’s understanding of genetic concepts. Students felt a sense of accomplishment and feelings of becoming scientist after this program. Also, this program appeared to significantly affect their decision on future career or major in University and gave chances on developing scientific aptitude. Taken together, these results suggested that PSEP is applicable and useful as an career education program to enhance self-understanding, career informations finding, and career planning for high school students.
