기존의 인터페론을 기반으로 한 치료의 한계를 극복하기위해 등장한 경구용 항바이러스제인 DAA는 인터페론의 치료가 금기시되던 간경변증 환자에게서도 비교적 안정적으로사용이 가능하며, 그리고 더 높은 치료 성적을 보임으로써 기존 인터페론 치료의 대상이 되지 못 했던 환자군에서 새로운치료 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 투석을 요할정도의 만성 콩팥병 환자에서 만성적인 HCV 감염은 환자의사망률을 증가시키므로 적극적인 항바이러스 치료를 요할 수있겠는데, 아직까지는 이 환자군에서의 치료 성적과 안정성에 관한 자료가 충분하지 못 하지만, 조만간 특수 상황의 환자군에서의 치료방향도 정리될 것으로 예상된다.
대한간학회에서는 2015년 후반기에 개정된 C형 간염 진료 가이드라인을 발표할 것으로 예정하고 있어 그 결과를 기대해 보고자 한다.
