Since the late 1990s, most domestic photo studio’s have been switching from a traditional analog studio to a digital-oriented business; however, there still remain several problems that prevent the studios from keeping proper maintenance of the business. In spite of this rapidly changing society, where digital cameras replace film cameras, and darkroom now obsolete, photographers of their own studio’s have been managing their business with pride and professionalism. Most studio operators have not put in sufficient amount of effort to cope with the change of the times and were inadequate in forming an operating system that would meet the needs of the Internet era. Thus, the number of closing studio’s has been growing, and the reduction of domestic consumption market due to the global economic slump in 2008 has exacerbated the situation. Existing studio’s should use Internet websites to improve the state of their business and actively seek out what exactly consumers want, also employing a distinctive marketing strategy that would best comply with the circumstances of the current times. Internet advancement, development of digital photography, and other complex factors have led to the business crisis of photo studio’s. Particularly, the remarkable development of Internet and digital photography progressed so rapidly that it did not even allow enough time for the businesses to prepare a counterplan. Majority of existing photo studio’s did not keenly utilize this opportunity, thus they could not bring Internet-centered operating systems and digital photographic techniques to their advantage. In order to find out solutions to these problems, the current state of the studio’s and conditions of their management, and the relationship with consulting enterprises were investigated. And also in response to the problems, effective applications of Internet on studio businesses were reviewed, such as correct understanding of digital photography and its equipments, specialization of photo studio’s, digitalization, and revitalization of marketing. Passion and hard work to understand the consumers’ needs and to produce high-quality photos with love and sincerity are needed. without films, a photo studio should prepare high-tech systems that would fulfill the purpose of its photography production. When necessary, digital studio system should be rightly constructed and the labor performance of staff members should be maximized. The only way for a photo studio to overcome the business crisis in the Information Age is continuing the study of the field of marketing, in which the consumers’ desires should be correctly analyzed and countermeasures be properly taken.
