This study was designed to examine the effect of using English animation movies for English lessons on elementary students' listening ability and was aimed at finding new ways and means to teach English more effectively. Two hypotheses were examined; the effect of using English animation on English instruction on students' attitude toward English and on improving students' listening ability. Fifth-grade students in 'T' elementary school were surveyed to satisfy these hypotheses. An English animation, the "Prince of Egypt" was used as a teaching material which was put into practice once a week for 40 minute class for a period of eight weeks.The results of this study showed that using English animation brought a remarkable improvement in the students' listening comprehension. The average of the grades of their listening test showed significant improvement, the students showed more interest in English and they showed a greater enthusiasm for English. However, using English animation in listening class also had negative influence on the attitude of the students by giving too much motivation. Therefore, there should be a continuous study on the effective way of giving moderate stimulation on the students.
