The purpose of this study is to analyze similar cases of treatment-rehabilitation for youth withemotional and behavioral disorders to understand the institutional environment and facility construction status. This study analyzed domestic and foreign institutions, regulation and standard, related cases based on literatureresearch, the residential treatment-rehabilitation facilities in the United States, Japan, and Korea as main cases. The results of the study are as follows. 1)Improvement of the environment of institution and facility is necessaryfor Youth with emotional and behavioral disorders. Establishing institutional infrastructure and service standardsat a national level has a significant impact on the installation and expansion of facilities. 2)A comprehensiveapproach towards institutions and services for youth with emotional and behavioral disorders is needed, andenvironmental standards for related facilities should be more specific and therapeutic. 3) Through the caseanalysis of residential youth treatment-rehabilitation facilities, we will look for future development plans such asstage and diversity of programs, community networking, continuous case and follow-up management, and theestablishment of a stable and therapeutic environment. This study can be utilized to provide the foundation forthe establishment of treatment-rehabilitation environment for youth with emotional and behavioral disorders inthe future. It may also provide the basic data for facility planning and development.
