The comparison of Korean and Chinese pronunciation of Chinese characters usually have two meanings. First, through the traces of high-old sound and middle-old sound reflected on the Korean pronunciation of Chinese characters, the change and development rules of the Chinese sound can be tracked down; second, the relatively regular correlation between Korean and Chinese sound can be used in teaching and learning of Chinese normalization. Regarding the correspondence of coda of Korean sound of Chinese characters with Yang-coda and Ip-coda of Chinese sound, this report, through comparison and analysis, suggests the following opinion:First, Korean pronunciation retains the Yang-coda of middle-old Chinese language such as m, n, ŋ relatively perfectly, has received almost no influence from the change in Chinese sound after that period. The peculiar reading phenomenon, however, of extremely few codas of Korean pronunciation reflects the dialect of modern Chinese language, which shows the changes and adaptations along with their rules for the Chinese pronunciation since middle-old. Second, the codas p, l, k of Korean sound correspond to Yip-codas p, t, k of Chinese sound. Among these, the Yip-coda t of middle-old Chinese is pronounced l in Korean sound, about which this report suggested a viewpoint that this phenomenon comes from the sound characteristics of Korean language itself. Third, there are traces of high-old sound of Chinese language still in Korean sound; for example, some characters such as 肴, 模, 魚, 豪, 歌, 麻, 泰, 脂, 微, which are codas of middle-old Chinese language, end with Yip-codas of k, l. This proves the fact that the basis of Korean sound is high-old Chinese sound. Besides, by arranging the correlation between unique Korean sounds and Chinese sounds systematically, the way Chinese sounds are embraced in Korean sound system was examined, and in addition, based on the existing research achievements, a unique opinion on the loss process of Chinese Yip-coda was expressed.
