<Six Daughters> and <The Way to Sampo> were both produced during the time of Part Chung-hee's regime. Both have a journey for their subject matter. However, they take on different perspectives on Developmental Dictatorship enforced by Park Chung-hee's regime. This paper attempt to identify the aesthetic and historical differences of two films. <Six Daughters> being a governmental project, by depicting the results achieved by Developmental dictatorship through an elderly couple's trip take a role of propaganda tool supporting the Developmental Dictatorship. On the contrary, <The Way to Sampo> views the same subject critically through the journey in search of a homeland. The old couple's trip becomes a sightseeing tour as they move around having defined destinations. Three friends of <The Way to Sampo> are more wanderers than tourists. They choose to escape a reality searching for a homeland which is rather a humanist ideal than a place. Through comparing two films, we can see different perspectives on Developmental Dictatorship enforced by Park Chung-hee's regime. In conclusion, while <Six Daughters> can be viewed as empowering of Development Dictatorship's Myth, <The Way to Sampo> attempts to see the realities behind it.
