It looks clear that the film is the most popular and strongest device ofnarration of these days. This new method of Art grows really fast by absorbingcontents from Literature. Though there are enormous amount of films that basedon Novels. the Art and skills of that adaptation in not studied enough. In this paper I studied Vladimir Nabokov’s novel Lolita and Stanley Kubrick’sfilm of same title as texts. What I try to find out are difference and similarities oftwo pieces of works, and I also discuss on reasons of the difference. Today, Nabokov’s Lolita is considered one of the most important novels ofthis century, but when it was published the book was banned publication becauseof its lewdness. Even though Actual theme of the novel is endless love andlonging for the English literature, they don’t try to look inside of the narration. As most of Kubrick’s works did so, the film Lolita gain more positiveresponse than the time of its release. Kubrick wanted to inform the absurdity ofmodern-Western by the story of four normal Americans who have strong appetitefor possession.
