Centering on the intolerability of a theme argument before pro-form kes, this squib addresses its implications on NP-ellipsis and genitive marking in Korean. Genitive-marked theme arguments are not tolerable with the use of kes while they are allowed to surface when numeral classifiers come into play to license null NPs. Based on this observation, this squib proposes that Korean has an nP-deletion strategy at its disposal, being licensed by numeral classifier, along with the nP-pro-form resolution by kes. The discussions of this squib also casts a serious doubt on the view that takes all instances of uy as modifying markers.
