This thesis examined the aspect of narrative technique in Dictee. Dictee is a very unique text which was written by Theresa Hak Kyung Cha(1951-1982) who was a Korean-American writer. Dictee antagonized the dominant discourse of the language Imperialism. Dictee used lots of insert materials such as diagrams, education materials, caligraphy, letters, different alphabets, photos, pictures, etc. It criticized the Western imperialism and Asian nationalism through the use of fragmented narrative structures, diverse materials and multiple genres. So the text was very unique and special but hard to read. Theresa Hak Kyung Cha was born in Korea but had emigrated to USA, so she had a fluid and heterogeneous identity. So to speak Cha was a diaspora-subject. Her multi-layered identity had influence on Dictee which was post-colonial text. Cha expressed the memory of parents and Korea which was her mother country and had been colonialized by Japan. Thus Cha made a women teller in Dictee. ‘Dictee’ has double meaning of dictation and language imperialism. The woman ‘diseuse’ told the sad history of Korea and Cha's bibliography. Cha used French as well as English so that she could tell the pain of emigrant. She told readers the memory of post-colonial feminist and wanted to express feminine history that would make a feminine solidarity. This study asserted that Cha would made a new aspect of writing that opposed language imperialism and attempt feminine history which made ‘a concentric circle’.
