The Story of Ik-Bu(益夫傳), the sino-character version of the Chun-Hyang story(春香傳·春香歌), is centered not around the love of Chun-Hyang and Yi-Mongryong, but around the lineage and biography of Yi-Mongryong. The description of Yi-Mongryong's father is not of importance in original Chun-Hyang story, but is fully practised in The Story of Ik-Bu. The heroic peculiarities of Yi-Mongryong is also emphasized, then The Story of Ik-Bu obtains the similar aspects with heroic novels such as The Story of So-Daesung(蘇大成傳) or The Story of Jang-Pungoon(張風雲傳). Another characteristic of The Story of Ik-Bu is the overflowing comments on the musical performance of Chun-Hyang story. By criticizing the inconsistent points of Chun-Hyang story, the writer tries to give the narrative consistency and completedness to The Story of Ik-Bu. The last characteristic we can point out is the representation of diverse sino writing styles. The narrative details like letters, documents or apellations are represented as such in The Story of Ik-Bu. These characteristics form the stylistic figure of The Story of Ik-Bu.
