This study aims to investigate inscribed internal roof tile in the Youngnam Area in the 17th and 18th centuries, and reviewed its transition by comparing that in the 16th century. The inscription can be classified as time, purpose, donation (donor and donated items), Jil by its contents, constructing monk(monk and artisan), and its interpretation, periodic transition, and disposition of inscription were examined. While the 17th century has its donor and donated items, the 18th century has its donor information, but had no items information. This phenomenon is conjectured that the donation in kind had been shifted to monetary donation according to the wide spread of Sangpyeongtongbo in the early 18th century. The role of monk related to the construction of the temple was restricted into Hwaju, Byeoljwa and Gongyangju in the 17th century, but in the 18th century various roles and grades of monks were confirmed. As to the Jil that shows the order of contents, both of which were confirmed in the 17th and 18th century, it can be understood that Jil is the main focus in the content classification. As to the appearance of front inscribed internal roof tile in the 17th century, it is examined from the Imjin War and the Jeongyu War and its reconstruction activity of offices and temples, in which royal family and nobles participated in as sponsors. Thus, the inscribed expression in the internal roof tile is a kind of visualization in which a donor supported the temple, and the temple granted religious appropriateness to the donor. The visualization of the fact that donation and its construction are marked in the front roof is an expression of religious appropriateness.
