【Abstract】 A study on indemnity clauses of export insurance Choi, Byeong-Gyu The contract of insurance is the primary illustration of a class of contracts described as uberrimae fidei, that is, of the utmost good faith. As a result, the potential parties to it are bound to volunteer to each other before the contract is concluded information which is material. The requirement of utmost good faith has also been held to apply throughout the contract. The insured should not use insurance as a unjust money making means. The export insurance has some special character. First of all, the export insurance is nonprofitable policy insurance. In korea export insurance is held by Korea Export Insurance Corporation(KEIC). KEIC has been committed to promoting sound overseas transactions since its establishment in July 1992. KEIC compensates the losses arising from export transactions and overseas investments that cannot be handled by the general insurance systems, and provides useful information to its customers. Always looking beyond its success, KEIC is making effort to meet the various needs of its customers, while furthering international cooperation and striving to become one of the leading export insurance institutions in the world. This study concentrates on showing the general principles of export insurance and indemnities in the field of export insurance general contract terms. Cases of export insurance show some problems in regard of general principles of insurance. But it has the ground on special character of export insurance. Therefore it can be justified. The author tried to point out the differences between export insurance and general insurance.
