A new pink gerbera (Gerbera hybrida Hort.) cultivar Pink Angel was developed from a cross between Tamara and Nevada followed by seedling and line selections at the Flower Breeding Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Servieces (ARES) in 1998. Characteristic trials were conducted three times from 1999 to 2001. Newly bred Pink Angel showed pink color (RHS No. 27-B), brown center, semi-double type, and large flower. It also has a good harmony in ray floret color and flower center color with stable flower shape, and vase life was 11.5 days. The average yield of Pink Angel was 47.5 flowers per plant per year in the greenhouse yield trails carried out from 1999 to 2001. This new cultivar registered for commercialization in 2002. Pink Angel would be cultured under greenhouse condition in Korea.
