The purpose of this study was to verify the operation characteristics of the hybrid desiccant cooler supplying air-conditioning to multiple rooms. Analyzing indoor temperatures and humidity ratios were conducted in three air-conditioned spaces: office, meeting room, and administrative room in experiments and simulation. In terms of ambient conditions, the average outdoor temperature was 32.7℃ and the average outdoor humidity ratio was 18.3 g/kg in the experiment and the average outdoor temperature and humidity ratio in the simulation were 32.2℃ and 17.9 g/kg, respectively. The cooling capacity in each space was determined by the supply and return of air and this was used for determining the COP of the system. There are three types of COP such as typical COP of a hybrid desiccant cooler, COP defined by PURPA involving CHP generation efficiencies, and COP to which coefficients of primary energy conversion are applied. As a result of the experiment, indoor temperatures converged to approximately 27℃ and humidity ratios accessed to approximately 10 g/kg and in comparison to the simulation, temperature differences were distributed 0.01-0.6℃ and humidity differences were 0.1-1.4 g/kg. Also, COP was averagely equal to 1.45, COP by PURPA became 2.4, and COP with primary energy coefficients was 4 in the experiment and every difference with the simulation was averagely 0.15.
