A FGM(Functionally Graded Material) structure has been implemented through various processes to compensate for the functional limitations of dissimilar materials and composite materials. The scope of application of FGMs is expected to widen because the local application of the material to desired areas is possible with the recent development of 3D printing technology. In particular, the 3D printing process using the DED(Directed Energy Deposition) method can be a combination of various materials, and it can be said to be a suitable process for realizing an FGM structure because density control by changing the structure and heat input is also possible.
In this study, to compose a dissimilar structure between steel and nickel materials, the deposition of dissimilar materials between STS316L and IN625 was performed. In particular, evaluation of the microstructure and mechanical properties according to each composition ratio by applying the FGD(Functionally Graded Deposition) structure. In the FGD interface of STS316L and IN625, the distribution of the component was confirmed for each composition ratio, and cracks were observed in the section having the combination of STS316L(80wt.%):IN625 (20wt.%). As a result of confirming the mechanical properties, fractures were observed in a similar section, but the un-melt phase was also observed inside, so it is considered that the relationship between microstructural and mechanical properties needs further study.
