In recent years, female business ownership has been the focus of increased research attention in recognition of the growing impact women are having on business development worldwide. Government statistics confirm that women are starting businesses in unprecedented rates of speed in many areas but retailing is a particularly relevant area of interest. While statistics indicate that three out of five new businesses are started by women, figures also suggest that, compared to male business owners, women-owned businesses are also the least likely to survive. The purpose of this investigation is to address problem areas associated with the small business retail community and to determine if gender differences occur in retail problems.(중략)
