Anthocyanins are probably the most widespread water soluble pigments in plant kindom. The colored rice bran contains large portion of anthocyanin and tannin pigments. Anthocyanin extracted from the colored rice bran showed intense redpurple. Unlike synthetic dyes, the anthocyanin pigments are generally used as a natural pigment for food. This research was conducted to establish the efficient use of the colored rice bran for dyeing textiles. To investigate the fabric dyeability of the colored rice bran extract, the anthocyanin pigments were extracted with water of different temperature ranges of 40~8$0^{\circ}C$ and were dyed on silk fabrics with different dyeing temperature 20(room temp.)~6$0^{\circ}C$, at acidic pH and neutral pH, respectively. Citric acid was used to adjust the ph of the dyeing solution. Aluminum chloride was pretreated with mordant for 20min. on 6$0^{\circ}C$. Color difference($\Delta$E) and dyeing fastness of dyed silk fabrics were examined.(중략)
