With the popularity of the Internet, in recent years, online games, online shopping, online communication has become people’s daily life. On the Internet, the word “秒杀” appears frequently and is widely used in many fields. After the emergence of “秒杀”, a large number of words with the structure of “秒X” such as “秒购”, “秒拍”, “秒发”, “秒懂” appear one after another. In modern Chinese, “秒” is a quantifier, which means that the unit of time 60 seconds is equal to one minute, while “秒” in “秒杀” and “秒购” means instantaneous and rapid meaning in a short time. What is the evolution process of “秒” from a simple quantifier of time unit to the meaning of “秒X” which means instant and rapid in a short time? Through a large number of words and examples of “秒X”, this paper analyzes the semantics of “秒” and “秒X”, the structure and grammatical characteristics of “秒X”, and reveals the affixoid tendency of “秒” from three aspects of semantic virtualization, fixed position and productivity.
