This paper aims to summarize Korean Chinese society"s efforts to publish Korean dictionaries and introduce the macrostructure of the Korean Dictionary (2017) as a prescriptive dictionary.
In chapter 2, 31 kinds of Korean monolingual dictionaries published in China were surveyed and classified by type. The current status of Korean lexicography in China was also analyzed. Chapter 3 reviews the revision history of Korean language norms in China, and reviews the compilation history of Korean prescriptive dictionaries. Chapter 4 analyzes the conceptualization plan and the macrostructure of the Korean Dictionary (2017). In conclusion, Korean norms and dictionaries in China have secured the homogeneity with the standard Korean language of North and South Korea, and at the same time focused on describing the Korean neologism that originated in China. Meanwhile, the Korean Dictionary (2017) emphasized "the purity of the Chinese-Korean language," revealing the linguistic identity and willingness to protect the Chinese-Korean language from Korean, foreign languages, and Chinese. On the contrary, some Chinese-Korean words used for a long time, just because of their dialect position, are not described in the prescriptive dictionary.
