Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze middle school boys the factors of avoiding physical education class and the process of change in participation among New Sports introduced classes. Method: The subjects of this study were 6 middle school students in middle school in Chung cheong buk-do. In-depth interviews with the subjects were conducted to collect data. The collected data were categorized using analytical and inductive category analysis methods. The data were analyzed and the results were obtained by increasing the reliability of the study through review with the researchers and multi - angle analysis. Results: As a result of this study, First, Subjects had a perception that physical education classes are unnecessary because of dissatisfaction in the content, management and progress of the class. Also the negative relationship with the teacher was a huge factor in subjects avoiding class. Second, in the new sports class, subjects were able to challenge themselves vather than competing with each other, Moreover, the fact that rules are flexible under New Sports helped the subjects to gain self-confidence and healthy expectations about themselves. Conclusion: middle school students who did not participate in physical education classes started to have a positive perception about physical education through New Sports class. Also, the depth of the negative experiences and limitations of New Sports physical education class Research should be explnred further.
