Despite the reversible condensation properties of DNA with metal ions (M<sup>n+</sup>s), the synthesis of spherically condensed M<sup>n+</sup>-DNA nanocomposites and their reduction have been rarely investigated. We synthesized a positively charged new Au<sup>3+</sup> complex via ligand-exchange, which efficiently induces DNA condensation through coordination and electrostatic interaction.
