This study aimed to analyze the relationship between mental health, relationship addiction and dating violence among college students. The subjects of this study were 168 college students. As a result of the study, first, relationship addiction had a completely mediating effect in the relationship between obsessive tendency and dating violence. Second, relationship addiction had a significant partial mediating effect in the relationship between schizophrenia and dating violence. Third, relationship addiction had a significant partial mediating effect in the relationship between damage consciousness, in the reconstruction clinical scale of MMPI-2, and dating violence. Fourth, relationship addiction had a significant completely mediating effect in the relationship between the hypomanic state, in the reconstruction clinical scale of MMPI-2, and dating violence. These results warned that people with poor mental health are vulnerable to dating violence through relationship addiction. In addition, we discussed finding the meaning of life or using active coping methods such as forgiveness to prevent relationship addiction.
