Objective: The aim of this study is to develop a conceptual design of chat-bot UI/UX of radiation monitoring and management for supporting public that may have concerns on radiation near everyday life and strong intention to contribute the related decision makings. Background: Recently many social concerns require public participations of various interest groups. Chat-bot could be a promising archetype that interconnects public and technological information such as radiation monitoring as well as AI and big-data. The interface and interaction should be developed carefully, however, if the seamless participation is demanding and a prerequisite to public. Method: We develop a project plan for a chat-bot based supporting system and a conceptual design of UI/UX for supporting public participations to radiation monitoring. Firstly, we conduct a typical requirement engineering including requirement reviews on current regulations and needs collected from interest groups including NGO and people near a nuclear facility. Secondly, we suggest a persona and basic scenario of radiation monitoring in everyday life. Typical FGI (focused group interview) and structured analysis are applied. Then we test the validity of the suggested conceptual design to the requirements by a typical UI/UX checklist and emotional review method. Results: A framework of interactions and early figures for chat-bot interfaces are suggested. Conclusion: A conceptual design of chat-bot UI/UX may enhance the public participation to the monitoring and management of radiation. Application: The suggested conceptual design of a chat-bot and the UI/UX will be integrated to radiation monitoring system after a validation of effectiveness to promote participations prior to public launching.
