Ti-6Al-4V alloy is widely used as an implant material because it is inexpensive and has high strength and mechanical properties such as corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance. However, vanadium and aluminum have a harmful effect on the human body and may cause problems such as stress shielding due to the difference in modulus of elasticity with human bones. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, many studies are being conducted to make alloys by adding stabilizing β-type elements such as Nb, Ta, and Zr. The addition of Ag and Pt elements can improve the biocompatibility of implants and exhibit antibacterial activity.
