Due to the rapid economic growth of modern society and the improvement of the quality of women’s lives, postpartum care spaces are emerging as aesthetic spaces that are not biased toward existing functions. However, the environment of the postpartum care service, which reflects the needs of mothers, is still lacking. “Postpartum care center”, where obstetrics, postpartum care, and postpartum care services coexist to provide professional service in a safe and comfortable environment for a healthy birth, is increasingly becoming important. In addition, humans promote the satisfaction and sense of purpose of life through contact with nature, and are helped by the health and well-being of the mind and body. The world is focusing on “sustainable growth” amid not only weather disasters caused by global warming, but also a continuous economic recession and a crisis in which natural resources are depleted. For mothers living inside buildings that lack the experience of nature, a lively environment aesthetically surrounded by clean nature is also needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze existing postpartum care centers and suggest improvement directions, deduce insufficient space for biomimicry designs that incorporate nature, and finally propose postpartum care centers that incorporate biomimicry design elements for mothers and newborns.
