This is a thesis that delved into the creation theology of soteriological grace of Irenaeus, the bishop of Lyon as well as theologian in the 2nd century. The reason for choosing creation theology for the ecological crisis that modern people are facing at the global level is that creation theology deals with the relationship of all beings comprehensively in the cosmological framework of the relationship between God and the world. The reason why I have chosen Irenaeus' creation theology also is that his creation theology deals with the whole area of creation in which the Triune God continues his creative activities as well as salvific activity with the salvation economy. Irenaeus contributed to establishing an understanding of the creation theology about the goodness and sacramental grace of creation world against the challenge of heretical Gnosticism that threatened the truth of the Christian gospel with the dualism of spirit and body at that time. Furthermore, Irenaeus argues that the creation world changes, grows, and matures toward eschatological perfection through the continuing creation and salvation plan of the Triune God, finally completing a new creation. I hope that Irenaeus' creation theology of soteriological grace can bring about changes in the understanding of the world and the perception of life as well as life and practice of modern people living in the extreme capitalist world.
