We have investigated the immunostimulatory and anti-metastatic activities of polysaccharide (GBW-II) purified from ginseng berry. GBW-II was composed of 14 different sugars, including unusual sugars such as 2-Me-xylose, apiose, aceric acid, Kdo and Dha, being characteristics of rhamnogalacturonan II. Macrophages treated with GBW-II did not show any cytotoxicity, but induced potent production of various cytokines such as IL-6, IL-12 and TNF-α. In an assay for NK cells activity, i.v. administration of GBW-II induced NK-cytolytic activity against Yac-1 lymphoma. In an experiment on lung metastas ... 전체 초록 보기
