Mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata) is widely used as table fruit. As we know the fruit is rich in flavonoids such as hesperidin, narirutin, tangeretin, and nobiletin. Although, sixty types of flavonoids identified and characterized for various therapeutic and food industrial applications, still lot more to unravel. In this study, we identified novel flavonoid component from the unripen state of mandarin orange, which is called “Prunin” (naringenin 7-o-glucoside).
