The Purpose of this paper is to examine the Position and Role of Women (Daughters) in modern Chinese Families through analysis of the narrative process and other factors that resolve conflicts and reconciliation between female protagonists and other family members in the two Dramas, All is Well(都挺好) and I Will Find You a Better Home(安家).
First, the two Dramas All is Well and I Will Find You a Better Home have a narrative structure that deals with conflict, disability, resolution, and growth in the workplace, and a narrative structure that focuses on women’s confrontation and struggle with traditional patriarchal Gender ideology in the family.
Second, All is Well reminds us that it is only the nest of “Family” that remains warm on one side of the heart after contradictions and quarrels in the play. I Will Find You a Better Home eventually reminds us that although we cannot escape from the Mother’s economic exploitation, the Family is a being that goes together even in pain.
Third, in the two Dramas, “House” is used as a very important subject and one of the elements of conflict. In addition, The new being “Food” created through the cooking process is the starting point for the settlement of conflicts and a symbol of reconciliation and coexistence.
Gender problems and Women’s conflicts in Chinese society, especially conflicts between Mothers and Daughters, victims of tradition, stem from deeply rooted Traditional Notions. It should be noted that These two are the most serious victims of Traditional ideas both within the Family and in Society.
