Organic farming has been known to improve soil quality by enhancing soil organic carbon (SOC) contents. The functions of SOC is not only to mitigate climate change but also support nutrient cycling. Soil C pools that promote microbial activity and nutrient cycle are mainly the labile pools, which has short turnover times of a few days to months. These labile organic carbon is considered as early sensitive indicators of soil quality and productivity.
