Most recent outbreaks of infectious diseases are caused by RNA virus. The control of viral outbreaks requires nucleic acid-based diagnostic assays that are sensitive, specific, simple and fast.
In this study, we developed a sensitive and one-pot, cell-free assay for the fluorescence-based detection of RNA from pathogens. The assay relies on isothermal reaction cascade producing RNA aptamer binding cognate fluorogenic dye and emitting fluorescence as an output.
