This research aims to verify the effects of photo therapy on depression and stress of climacteric women and to provide basic data for its effectiveness. The results of this research are summarized as follows. First, the degree of depression of the climacteric women who participated in group photo therapy reduced significantly. Second, the stress of the climacteric women who participated in group photo therapy reduced significantly. Based on the above mentioned results of this research, photo therapy was found to have positive effects on depression and stress of climacteric women. This research is significant in that the problems of climacteric women were examined through photo therapeutic intervention, and this implies that photo therapy can be utilized as a safe and realistic alternative in the expectation of potential therapeutic value and the promotion of mental health.
