Most of the domestic researches related to air conditioning system using outside cold air have been mainly focused on improvement of supply / exhaust efficiency in server installation space. Data centers installed in urban areas tend to be installed in high-rise and narrow spaces for effective site use. Therefore, the influence of adjacent buildings should be analyzed in depth. In this study, the cooling methods by air side economizer cycle were analyzed in consideration of the above-mentioned matters, and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) analysis on the separation distance of the air supply and exhaust system was performed to efficiently operate the air conditioning system. On the basis of the results carried out, a suitable distance of the supply and discharge mechanism was proposed. As a result, the reflow rate of the three-story building was 36.8% when the outdoor air was applied from the front, but showed a low distribution of 0.6 ~ 3.1% in the inclined wind direction. The reflow rate of the five-story building was 2.06 ~ 8.95% for the front wind speed and 0.59 ~ 5.05% for the external wind speed at an angle of 45 degrees. Therefore, if the vertical distance of the air supply and exhaust mechanism is more than 1.5m, it is not expected to affect the energy efficiency of the system.
