Angiography devices used in coronary angiography can be classified into Mono-planeand Bi-plane according to the number of C-arms. It is reported that the two types of equipmentare mixed in clinical practice and do not affect the examination and procedure. However, it isknown to be related to variables such as procedure time, radiation exposure, and contrast mediumconsumption due to system differences. Therefore, in this study, we tried to find out the differencein coronary angiography according to the type of angiography device. In one hospital in GwangjuMetropolitan City, the amount of contrast medium, radiation dose, and examination time werecompared according to the type of angiography system, and the gender, age, and Body Mass Indexof the patient were considered as external factors analyzed. Patients (106 patients) who underwentcoronary angiography were analyzed by dividing into two groups according to the use of Monoplaneand Bi-plane equipment. Fluoroscopic time was short in Bi-plane and Dose area product(radiation dose) was small in Bi-plane, but there was no statistical difference. However, the amountof contrast media (contrast media) used was statistically significantly lower in Bi-plane than Monoplane. In conclusion, the use of bi-plane equipment during coronary angiography is expected toreduce the amount of contrast medium used, and it seems that the use of Bi-plane equipment canbe considered as a priority for patients with decreased renal function in clinical practice.
