As China’s economy continues to grow, the perception of leisure and tourism is rapidly changing, and the outbound tourism market in China is steadily growing. In order to attract Chinese tourists with a competitive advantage over other countries, it is necessary to review the needs and trends of Chinese tourism and to actively review and complement existing distribution and tourism strategies. So far, research on Chinese tourists has been focused on surveys. The survey data can be used to diagnose Chinese tourists’ individual travel information, degree of satisfaction, and future decisions and to be reflected on policies and strategies. However, there are limitations in analyzing timely situations because investment is required such as time, manpower and cost. Therefore, in this study, we tried to analyze the news articles about the tourists of China. Through the Naver News Channel, we collected and analyzed the news of 2015, which includes both ‘China’ and ‘Tourism’ keywords. We extracted vocabularies through morphological analysis, summarized the vocabulary needed for analysis, Utilizing text network analysis, centrality indicators of the vocabularies are calculates and expressed them by network chart. Communities of vocabularies were extracted and topics were represented by subnetworks. As a result of the analysis, firstly, it was shown that the distribution and tourism marketing for Chinese tourists were intended to promote visits through duty free shops and hospitality industries such as hotels and resorts. On the other hand, it is analyzed that the importance of the tourism industry itself or sightseeing places such as the regional culture, and festival is relatively not emphasized. It is analyzed that there is a regional unbalance because there are many discussions mainly in Seoul and Myeong-dong region. Although the number of times referred to in the article is relatively small, “Korean Wave” has been linked to the cultural festival, distribution and hospitality industry as a whole. The MERS situation, which was an issue in 2015, was analyzed as the lack of relevance to other topics or vocabulary as the tourism demand of Chinese tourists had been recovered since August. It is analyzed as an important policy implication such as strengthening linkage with distribution and tourism industry, differentiation of regional characteristics, dissolution of concentration of tourist area through additional facility investment, and active utilization of Korean Wave.
