This study contained Korean science teachers's view on the features of the public science education in US and reflection on the Korea Science and education based on it. For this study, the reports that 40 teachers observed for two days to visit 18 schools in Howard County were analyzed by phenomenological method. The results showed that the features of public science education in US could be classified into five themes, such as teaching and learning, student guidance, teacher working conditions, operating systems, and facilities. The most significant statement in the theme of teaching and learning was inquiry-based science learning. Teachers stated that classrooms in US had environments for practical inquiry and had been able to observe inquiry-based learning often. In terms of student guidance, participants have the mostly noted the orderly, positive, and even autonomous learning atmosphere. In terms of teacher working conditions, they stated a variety of supporting efforts that teachers were able to focus on education. Many participants reported about subject classroom system in terms of operating system. This study is meaningful because it contains a reflection of teachers about Korean science education based on observation about advanced science education practices.
