Korea and Japan are areas where purebredism has developed strongly due to the geopolitical environment and has shown an exclusive appearance to each other. At the same time, however, cultural exchanges have also progressed vigorously. Since the modern era, Japan has played a role of transferring the global culture of the West to Korea by localizing it in accordance with characteristics of a large area called East Asia. Koreans enjoy the Japanese culture while at the same time refusing to assimilate with Japan. Changes in Korean society looking at Japan and changes in Japanese society In addition, in the great flow of globalization, it is necessary to reconsider how the two countries should look at the mutual culture. Korea and Japan show a complex and subtle relationship between neighboring regions. The psychology that accepts and rejects cultures from neighboring regions also makes the process of cultural exchange and diffusion dynamic. This is because it embraces global culture in a way different from neighboring regions and forms a unique local culture or a new global culture.
