After the Anti-Japanese War and the Korean War, North Korea and China established the “traditional friendship and cooperation” with special significance. Both China and the DPRK showed asymmetrical alliance in terms of military security, geopolitics, economy, history and culture. Before the DPRK’s military establishment and the Korean War broke out, a large number of Korean troops in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army returned to DPRK，which made a positive contribution to the DPRK People’s Army’s establishment and development. Therefore, North Korea should strengthen its close friendly and cooperative relations with China in military, political and ideological issues and should not ignore the Chinese factor in the military. However, in order to step up its rule，Kim Il-sung and constantly eliminated the Yanan faction and other pro-China members, weakened China's influence on North Korea, and successfully used the rivalry and competition between China and the Soviet Union to win aid from both sides. Although China is decisive for North Korea’s security, it has not dominance North Korea’s “international strategic arrangements” nor does it affect North Korea’s “domestic route design.”
