This study aims to investigate what technology tools and how effectively they are used in the primary English class. The questionnaire survey is conducted. The responses of 154 primary English teachers are analyzed. The result of analysis reveals that primary schools have good and reliable ICT infrastructure and a variety of ICT tools are used to motivate students. It is also shown that many teachers heavily rely on CD-ROMs provided with the textbook. Majority of the teachers believe that the use of ICT tools help pupils’ language learning, and that they use ICT tools in an appropriately way in the given context. While most of them use the tools to motivate their pupils, less than forty percent of the respondents say that they use the tools effectively to encourage pupils’ self-directed learning. It is suggested that teachers need in-service teacher training to make an effective use of the tools in the language classroom. It is also suggested that language learning and teaching can be facilitated with the use of ICT tools and teacher training will maximize benefits the tools can bring teachers and students.
