Hyangt'o minyo 鄕土民謠 Arirang 아리랑 has been handed down in Kangwŏn province 江原道 and it's nearby the mountains. But its a function and a special feature was enlarged as a field song in the later Chosŏn dyansty. And the labors who is from Kangwŏn province sang Arari 아라리 at Kyŏngbokkung 景福宮 construction works, therefore labors who is from other region liked Arari, too. Arari become increasingly popular from the labors, then the professional singers sang new style Arirang what it makes arari of Kangwŏndo style. T‘ongsok minyo 通俗民謠 Arirang is formationed like this. The cinema “Arirang” made in 1926, and the theme music of this cinema was used Arirang. The theme music is widely liked with the cinema. The cinema “Arirang” touched off a boom the song Arirang. So a composer of popular song made various kinds of Arirang what it made alike arari. From this time until comparatively lately, Arari is writing continually. Accordingly, Arirang confirmed popularity as make step forward t'ongsok minyo from hyangt'o minyo. And Arari is developing according to passage of popular song for it is express as the creative song.
