The porpose of this study is to develop a protocol for an osteoporosis prevention program and test the feasibility of such program through various test, with a view that the program may be applied as a part of a health promotion for middle age women on a community-wide basis. The porpose here is composed of two parts: the exercise part and the education part. The exercise part consists of aerobic exercise and stepper exercise utiliziing jumping motion with the motion with the exercise intensity of the maximum heart rate of 70 to 80%, each talking about 55 minutes to 60 minutes at time, and muscle-strengthening exercise, each talking 10 to 15 minutes at a time. administered three times a week for a 12-week duration. The subject matter of the education part focused on calcium intake, important of exercise and posture correction. The osteoporosis prevention program training involved 19 osteopeniac women in their postmenopause. Another 19 osteopeniac women in the control group received no intervention.The subject were dianosed with osteopenia by DXA at Lumber at 2-4 in a health center in seoul. The results were follows: There was no significant difference in bone mineral density at L-4 Between the experiment group, there was no significant decease after the 12 week period. There was a significant difference in health belief variables except health susceptibility and self-efficacy.
