The purpose of this study was to analyze the change of the flexor carpi ulnaris, the flexor carpi radialis, the brachioradalis, and the extensor carpi ulnaris of both arms' EMG in golf putting strokes. In order to accomplish the purpose, 2 golf experts were selected. Also the situation set classified into the putting distance and the stroke phase. The results were obtained as follow; 1. Four muscles of the right arm showed the degree of the action potential from 50μV to 100μV, but those of the left arm showed it from 100μV to 200μV. It identifies that the role of the left arm was more important than that of the right arm when putting. 2. The degree of the action potential of all muscles increased regularly according to the expansion of distance, but flexor carpi ulnaris of the left arm was much bigger than other muscles according to the expansion of distance. 3. According to the average EMG in swing phase, backswing phase had the most action potential of the three phase, and follow through phase had more action potential than downswing phase. The difference of action potential between backswing and follow through phase showed slightly under 5μV, but in backswing and downswing phase, downswing and follow through phase produced the degree of 10μV-20μV. In conclusion, putting strokes were performed by left hand centered. and in order to take the club head to the back position bigger muscle contractions were happened, but in downswing and follow through phase comparatively lower muscle action potential were observed. Consequently, we knew that the action potential of left arm appeared higher than right arm in golf putting strokes, but in order to the kinematic analysis of the left arm, we need further study of the film analysis.
