Discussions on the introduction of the flexible work system have been discussed along with economic growth, and some companies have adopted and implemented some forms of the flexible work system. In particular, tourism companies, which have a high demand for tourists on weekends or holidays, adopted flexible work systems such as hourly work systems from the perspective of customers rather than from the perspective of workers. Excluding tourism-related companies, discussions were taking place on the introduction of a more flexible work system by breaking away from the existing work system due to the emergence of secondary industries and the development of ICT companies. Then, the spread of COVID-19 disease, which began in 2020, introduced various types of non-face-to-face work, such as telecommuting and time difference, and quick local governments tried to create conditions and attract companies to work non-face-to-face in the region.
In this study, in these social conditions of the times, the flexible work system recognized by tourism company workers will affect their job satisfaction and job commitment. The hypothesis was established and verified through empirical analysis. As a result, tourism companies were largely aware of the efficiency of the flexible work system and the institutional aspects of the flexible work system. Specifically, it was found that the efficiency perception of the flexible work system had a positive effect on job satisfaction and job commitment, and the institutional perception of the flexible work system had a positive effect on organizational commitment. In addition, it was found that job satisfaction had a positive effect on organizational commitment.
