The kenaf is noted for fuel source that it has high growth potential. To upgrading fuel characteristics of biomass, hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) and torrefaction (TOR) processes mainly used. Using the process, it was carried out on various temperature (160-320°C) during 60 min using kenaf. Hemicellulose and cellulose were degraded and removed by various heating temperature of HTC and TOR.
