The appearance of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has led to a change in emerging photovoltaic technology due to the significant increase in efficiency within the past ten years from 3.8% to 25.5%. This 25.5% efficiency is highly significant, the PSCs exhibit a higher efficiency than multi-crystalline Si (22.3%) as well as it is comparable to single-crystalline Si (26.7%) based solar cells. The high performance PSCs generally use organic materials and TiO₂ layer as extract holes and electron, respectively. However, these transport layers are thermally and chemically unstable.
