Purpose: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed virtual reality sports technology for elementary schools and has supported the installation of virtual reality in 360 elementary schools nationwide by 2020 based on the test project of 10 schools in 2017. In addition, 123 types of convergence and complex sports contents tailored to the level of students are provided so that they can enjoy various sports activities (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 2021). Conditions have been set up to enjoy sports activities regardless of the weather, such as fine dust and heat waves, and interesting contents are provided to provide opportunities to participate in sports activities and to experience various sports activities at the level of children. In addition, it is a reality that there are remarkably few papers in the virtual reality (VR) sports room. The purpose of this study is to present a plan for the development of virtual reality (VR) sports rooms by analyzing previous studies on the use of virtual reality (VR) sports rooms.
Method: This study systematically reviewed the literature from March 2000 to the present, when virtual reality (VR) sports rooms began to be distributed in earnest, through a "data identification-selection-qualification-inclusive" method according to PRISMA FLOW CHART (Moher, D, et al., 2009). First, for data identification, the Korea Educational Research Information Service (www.risse.kr) conducted a search with keywords of VR, physical education, virtual reality, and augmented reality. In addition, all papers collected through database search clearly set the scope of research on "Elementary School VR" and "Sports Room Utilization Plan" at the title or green level, and tried to clearly select research contents according to the topic, and seven papers were finally selected through qualitative comprehensive screening. Since there is no standard and uniform analysis method for qualitative meta-analysis, the research was conducted through a three-step process and a "individual research analysis"-direction of elementary VR utilization "-comprehensive analysis and discussion" using the preceding research results (Jin Yeon-kyung 2018; Yang Jung-mo, 2019).
